Non-Stick Cookware Raising Cholesterol?
There is a new study that points to a surprising finding. There seems to be a correlation between the chemicals that are used in non-stick cookware and higher cholesterol levels.
I think this study shouldn’t mean we abandon our non-stick cookware – but we should keep on top of the current data and by now, more research into this subject should be initiated.
This study is one of the first to explore the effects of long-term exposure to perfluoroalkyl acids – which can be found even in dust. Or microwave popcorn. Or food packaging. So it’s not just about non-stick foodware, it’s about the chemicals that we use to produce, package and prepare our foods.
